Cooker installation in Bolton for freestanding electric cookers, range cookers and induction hobs. ANR Electrics checks your cooker circuit, fits a cooker switch where needed and connects your cooker safely.
Range cookers and induction hobs draw a lot of power, often more than an old cooker. That means the existing cable and breaker may not be big enough. We check the power rating of your new appliance against your circuit and upgrade the cable if needed.
More Information
A cooker switch is the large switch on the kitchen wall near your cooker. It lets you turn the cooker off quickly in an emergency or when cleaning. It should be easy to reach and not hidden behind the cooker. We fit or replace cooker switches as part of the job.
Planning a new kitchen layout? If your cooker is moving, the supply needs to move with it. We run a new cable from the cooker switch or consumer unit to the new position, often before the kitchen units go in. Doing it at that stage keeps the cable hidden.

Cooker installation costs depend on whether your existing circuit is suitable. Connecting a new cooker to a working cooker switch is a fairly quick job. If you need a new cable, a bigger breaker or a cooker switch fitted, the job takes longer and costs more. We check before we start.
Sometimes. Many induction hobs need around 7kW or more, which some older cooker circuits cannot supply safely, especially if an oven shares the circuit. We check the hob's rating, your cable size and the breaker. If the circuit is too small, we upgrade it before connecting the hob.
We can connect the electrical side of a dual fuel cooker, which is usually the oven, grill and ignition. The gas hob must be connected by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Booking both trades for the same day means your cooker is fitted and working in one go.
